Superior vs average

One of the marks of superior people is that they are action-oriented.

One of the marks of average people is that they are talk-oriented.

-- Brian Tracy

From my work life experience, I think sometime the reverse is true:

Top management are talk-oriented, middle management and those below their level are action-oriented.

I think he would agree that most upper management is talk-oriented but would call them average. What you are calling action-oriented could probably be call motion-oriented -- doing the steps a certain way (and often talking about it.)

But the action-oriented listens to the talk, thinks for himself, and takes on the task, demolishing obstacles to finish the task and turns to listen about the next.

Is this true? I do not know. But I think that is what he means.
