This period of time, when I need company for lunch and other activities, I am grateful to have someone close to me, a sister, to be around.
I am used to doing things independently, and when I find it hard to do it when I have too much thoughts distracting my concentration lately, I turn to one of my sisters for support, and she is always there for me.
This makes me feel touched and gives me a sense of security and contentment.
Thanks to have her company during this period of time!
I am grateful for her time, her reassuring words of encouragement!

Engagement ring are worn on the fourth finger ...
Engagement rings are often worn on the fourth finger of the left hand because the ancient Greeks maintained that that finger contains the vena amoris, or the 'vein of love,' that runs straight to the heart.
The first recorded wedding rings appear in ancient Egypt, with the circle representing eternity as well as powerful sun and moon deities.

Everything else falls into line
Love yourself first and everything else falls into line.
You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.
-- Lucille Ball (1911-1989)
=====
Like the safety announcement/video on board any air plane, if you have kids or people you need to attend to in the event of accident, please put on your own oxygen mask etc... first before helping those around you.
The way we do it in normal circumstance, with the pressure created by the those who need our help, it is common to scarify our own needs and end up not helping others and harm ourselves at the same time.

Just view the video and like the following statement:
=====

Have made some difference ...
I think the purpose of life is to be useful,
to be responsible,
to be honorable,
to be compassionate.
It is, after all, to matter:
to count,
to stand for something,
to have made some difference that you lived at all.

Apple Visionary Steve Jobs Dies At 56
Steve Jobs, Poet Of Computer World, Dies
http://www.npr.org/2011/10/05/123826622/apple-visionary-steve-jobs-dies-at-56
Life is short, yet he had lived well and contributed more than average people who lives longer than him!
In retrospect, I re-"view" the following video and find his life philosophy even more insightful than the first time I viewed it years back:
***He was rejected at birth, and was also rejected by a company he created!
***The only way of doing great work: to do what you love!
*Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. And I have always wished that for myself.
*Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice.
*And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

The same video is on Youtube with a different title:
Steve Jobs' 2005 Stanford Commencement Address
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF8uR6Z6KLc
"Drawing from some of the most pivotal points in his life, Steve Jobs, chief executive officer and co-founder of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, urged graduates to pursue their dreams and see the opportunities in life's setbacks -- including death itself -- at the university's 114th Commencement on June 12, 2005"
Here is the news from NPR today:

Silicon Valley venture capitalist Roger McNamee says, "the sum of which put him in a place where no one else has ever been before. To me he is of his era what Thomas Edison was to the beginning of the 20th century."
NPR (National Public Radio) "In many ways Jobs was the poet of the computer world. He'd gone to India and become a Buddhist. He took LSD and believed it had opened his mind to new ways of thinking."

Give What You Want
If you want trust, trust others.
If you want respect, respect others.
If you want help, help others.
If you want love and peace in your life, give them away.
If you want great friends, be one. That’s how it works.
-- Dan Zadra
Give What You Want!
Test it out and you will know it works!
Cheers!

Rebuilding our strength...
"Many of us live with a variety of body aches that transform over time but never really go away.
Living in our body demands that we work with our injured muscles and rebuild our strength.
Someday there will be a scientific test that can measure the scar tissue in the heart. Just like those of every other muscle in our body, tears in our hearts repair, but not always in an orderly way."

Words of wisdom
Just found these "Words of wisdom" forwarded via email from a friend sometime back:
***********
On Pain...
***********
***********
On Worry...
***********

Love and approval
"We all have the power to define our own worth and bring love into ourselves.
While you might think that the only love that feels really great is love from another person, this is a huge false belief.
If you have ever experienced a moment where you feel full and joyous for no external reason, you know that it is possible to feel incredibly wonderful without another's love and approval."

Self-love vs self-abuse
We have the need to be accepted and to be loved by others, but we cannot accept and love ourselves.
The more self-love we have, the less we will experience self-abuse.
Self-abuse comes from self-rejection, and self-rejection comes from having an image of what it means to be perfect and never measuring up to that ideal.
Our image of perfection is the reason we reject ourselves the way we are, and why we don't accept others the way they are.
-- Don Miguel Ruiz

Gazing at each other
Love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward together in the same direction.
